Founded in 1994, Minsk International Film Festival Listapad is an annual film festival which takes place in November in Minsk, the festival is the largest film forum in Belarus and the main competition consists of films participants and prize winners of different international film festivals of the CIS, Baltic, Central and Eastern Europe.International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) accredits the festival as a Competitive specialized film festival of Baltic countries, as well as countries of Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe.
Festival also provides an educational platform for communication between professionals of cinema. Varied workshops, discussions and exhibitions are held to give an opportunity to learn from masters of cinema and to discuss significant problems of cinematography’s development. The Forum is mostly Russian-speaking but it continues to show development toward reaching the greater international community.
The mission of the festival is to preserve a cinematographic space and to give a full impression of the cinematography of the former socialistic countries, including Central and South-East Asia, Baltics, Eastern and Central Europe; to present the variety of widely appreciated feature films and documentaries to Belarussian public and form high cultural status of cinema and involve young talents into the industry.
