Tampere Film Festival is one of the most important short film festivals. The festival presents over 450 films
in 120 screenings. The 47th festival will be held 8th to 12th of March 2017.
The core of the festival is the International and the National Competitions and the special programmes. About
110 films from 40 countries are screened in the competitions. The special programmes consists of a great number
(about 20 each year) of retrospectives, tributes and thematic programmes and the children’s festival all of
which allows a wide selection of European works from the early years of cinema up to the most recent works.
Tampere Film Festival will be visit by about 100 foreign and 550 Finnish accredited guests (about 100 journalists).
Tampere Film Festival has a high number of public - about 17 000 spectators in 5 days. Tampere Film Market has over
4000 titles, with a major presence of productions of northern Europe and Baltic countries. A variety of events, seminars,
exhibitions and meetings are organised during the festival.Tampere is very active on bilateral activities regarding
promotion, programming and consulting with several European festivals. Promoting Finnish and European Short Film is
one of our primary missions.Professional meetings include discussions and seminars of different topics, a meeting
of film festivals and meetings between filmmakers, producers, audience and film students.

▪ upload at least one still photo of the film
▪ upload the preview file OR provide a downloadable Vimeo link
▪ make sure the preview file is working correctly

▪ final selection is announced on February 1st 2017 at www.tff.fi
▪ only the submitters of the selected films will be notified personally
All preview files are automatically entered into Tampere Film Festival’s Film Market and made available
for accredited professionals only. Film Market will be open for three weeks, March 8th–29th 2017.
If the submitter does not want to have the film included in the Film Market, festival must be notified
when submitting the film to the competition.
If The Film Is Selected
▪ please note that only the submitters of the selected films will be notified personally
▪ information given in the entry form (synopsis, credits etc.) will be used as such in all printed
publications and on the website
▪ screening copy must be delivered at least 2 weeks before the festival starts
▪ films will be electronically subtitled in Finnish
▪ screening copy must have English subtitles and be identical to the preview copy
▪ festival is authorized to make one excerpt not exceeding 10% or max. 3 minutes of the total running
time of the selected films to be used in promoting the festival in various medias and the Internet
▪ festival will insure the screening copy while in the festival’s possession (The insurance will follow
the regulations of FIAPF)
▪ festival will cover the return expenses of the screening copy if needed
▪ festival offers the representative of the film (1 person) accommodation for 3 nights in Tampere during
the festival
Non-Specified Cases
Any such cases not mentioned in these regulations will be left to the festival’s consideration
(in accordance with FIAPF International Regulations). By submitting the entry form the submitter
acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted the regulations without reservation.
