Introduction

Stockholm International Film Festival, founded in 1990, has evolved to become one of the major annual cultural events in Sweden, which is also the first of the Scandinavian festivals to be authorized by FIAPF. With 27 years of experience, Stockholm International Film Festival continues to explore and promote the great directors of tomorrow and is established as one of the leading film festival in Europe. With a passion for visionary filmmaking the festival keeps on pushing forward the boundaries of cinema.

During the 27th Stockholm International Film Festival over 200 films from 70 countries were presented to more than 140,000 visitors, 450 journalists and 300 film professionals.

The aim for Stockholm International Film Festival is to broaden the selection of films in Sweden with creative new films of high quality and offer the visitor an orientation within modern film to stimulate continuing debate.
