    Introduction

The 10th Annual Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, October 17th-21st, 2018 dubbed a young Sundanceby indieWire, and an all-inclusive resort for cinephilesby Filmmaker Magazine. SFIFF is not only the most attended film event in the area, it is now a top regional fest on the circuit. The Fest creates a hub for film in Santa Fe for a unique and unpretentious festival experience. SFIFF promotes emerging and established filmmakers by screening features and shorts in the beautiful and unassuming setting of downtown Santa Fe. Artists can let their guard down, and feel free to network every evening at a different venue, where they can at once enjoy our festival nightlife and create lasting professional connections. Santa Fe is now one of the greatest theater cities on earth with the newly opened 11 screen Violet Crown, George RR Martins Jean Cocteau Cinema, the historic Lensic theater, and the Center for Contemporary Arts.

Santa Fe Independent Film Festival (SFIFF), October 17th-21st, 2018 advances independent, innovative, and cutting edge cinema and brings 5 days of excellence in filmmaking to the inclusive and diverse community of Santa Fe, New Mexico. In April 2016 the Festival was named one of Moviemaker Magazine's "50 Festivals Worth the Entry Feefor the third consecutive year.

During the 8th Annual festival, SFIFF honored screen legend Jacqueline Bisset with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Jay Roach (Trumbo) with the American Filmmaker Award. SFIFF screened over 100 films, hosted panels with visiting filmmaking, such as Ethan Hawke, to help them directly connect with the audience. This past year for the 9th Annual Festival, the festival honored John Sayles and Maggie Renzi with the Lifetime Achievement Award, writer N. Scott Momaday was presented SFIFF's Lifetime Achievement Award by and welcomed our returning guests such as John Waters, Chris Eyre, and Wes Studi.

   Prizes & Awards

The Santa Fe Independent Film Festival is accepting entries for narrative features, narrative shorts, documentary features, International features, documentary shorts, and animated films. Filmmakers whose films are selected for the festival will have the opportunity to mingle with celebrities and industry VIPs and get to experience the unique beauty of Santa Fe.
