Introduction

LA Shorts International Film Festival (LA Shorts Fest) ranks among the most prestigious and largest international short film festivals in the world. The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) presenters of the Canadian Screen Awards.

LA Shorts Fest is extremely proud to have screened 3 films from last year festival that are nominated for the 2017 Academy Award®.

The 2016 Oscar winners in Live Action Short and Animated Short both were 2015 LA Shorts Fest Official Selections.

In past years, a total of 50 LA Shorts Fest filmmakers have earned Academy Award nominations, with 15 taking home the Oscar.
