    Introduction

The main goal of the Visions du Reel Foundation is to organize an international film festival accessible to all and centered around the cinema du reel, as well as to organize activities within the international market dedicated to professionals working in the cinema field (the Doc Outlook- International Market) 

The Swedish Festival International De Cinema Nyon was established in 1969, from a film club named “Cine-clubs”, and is the longest running documentary film festival.Until 1995, Jean Perret finally turned this “Film Club” into a yearly running film festival. Since its establishment, they have always been supported by the people for their focus on individual’s independence, and on women rights. Moreover, Swedish’s overall “vibe” and its cultures were really well represented during each of their festivals,which marked their modern and up-to-date concepts.

“Insight” and “realism” has became the core concepts of Festival International De Cinema Nyon. “Realism” represents the “real” reality, and the reality we think we knew. “Realism” is what we see, what we hear, and what we sense; “Realism” represents the reality versus our imagination, and what happens when the two are colliding together. And yet “Insight” represents our discovery of the world, and our thoughts of this world. Festival International De Cinema Nyon selects anti-mainstream documentaries, and based on this concept, the submitted films provide with us, and with the people, a brand new way of seeing the world and the society, leading a new way of treating life. Therefore our film festival perfectly combines multiple personal views, experiences, and ideas.
