Introduction

Launched in 2009 as the first festival for extreme-short images and films in Asia, SESIFF (Seoul international Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival) celebrates its 8th edition this year.


The festival, whose motto is 'Anyone can make a film', is one of the ambitious cultural festival in Korea. The aim of SESIFF is to seek diverse possibilities through the innovative visual culture and to offer opportunities to better enjoy it. Anyone willing to experience a new kind of visual culture is heartily welcomed at SESIFF, a young film festival that intends to communicate with the audience through innovation imaginations.

Purposes

The Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (SESIFF) introduces various foreign extreme-short films to Korea and actively discovers and supports extreme-short film directors to contribute to Korea’s film development. SESIFF contributes in creating a cosmopolitan cultural environment where anyone can enjoy movies in various places beyond cinemas and through various channels.

Features

   Extreme-short film must be less than 5 minutes completed after January of 2015.
   Short film must be from 5 minutes to 15minutes completed after January of 2015.
   Film for subway competition should be no longer than 90 seconds.
   Films for subway competition should be free of extreme violent or obscene content and should be suitable for public showing.
    Films for subway competition would be screened without sound and even dialogues as it would be screened in subways.
    Films must not be submitted to SESIFF before.
    Regardless of shooting method and genre.

SESIFF Grand Award : 5,000,000 KRW

SESIFF Special Jury Award : 3,000,000 KRW
One special film chosen by Juries without running time
 
SESIFF Best Extreme-short Film Award : 1,000,000 KRW
The best film among 5 minutes Extreme Short films

The best film among short film from 5 minutes to 15 minutes

One film chosen by audience vote without running time
